Pricing and Prohibited Items Information

Late Fees

We strive to provide the best customer service in the industry, going above and beyond to meet our customers’ needs. We understand that it isn’t always possible to pay your bill the day it is due, and we offer a two-week grace period for you to get your bill paid. However, service is a two-way street. Just as we commit to picking up your trash every week, we ask that you pay for this service in a timely manner to ensure smooth operations.

  • A $5 late fee will be charged if payment is not received by the 15th day of the billing cycle.
  • An additional $10 late fee will be charged if payment is not received for an entire month.
  • If the account is not brought up to date within one week after the second late fee is issued, service will stop until all past due payments and fees are paid.
  • After two months of non-payment, we will pick up your trash can and will not add you back as a customer.

If you know you’re going to be late with a payment, please communicate with us. We are happy to work with you to find a solution, as long as you keep in contact with us so we are aware of your situation.

Additional Bag Pickup

  • For weekly trash pickup, only items inside the provided trash can will be collected.
  • If you need additional bags picked up, please notify us ahead of time.
  • Charges for additional bag pickup:
    • $3 per standard 13-gallon bag
    • $10 per contractor bag
  • We offer a second trash can for $20 per month and any additional cans after that for $15 per month. If you find yourself with extra bags every week, consider getting a second can.
  • We do not pick up any items that are not bagged or inside the trash can.
  • For larger items, we offer junk removal services—please contact us for details.

Please Bag Your Trash

We ask that you bag your trash to help us reduce the risk of fines when dumping at the landfill. While we don’t mind a few loose items in your trash can, please limit it to no more than a few, especially for items like cans and bottles. Many items thrown away weekly, such as yard waste, cans, and bottles, are not supposed to be disposed of at the landfill. While these items are not harmful, we can still be fined if they are seen during dumping. By bagging your trash, the contents are obscured, and everything looks the same at the landfill, eliminating our risk of a fine. However, if we are emptying a large number of loose cans, bottles, or yard waste, these items are obvious and carry a much higher risk of us being fined. If a large number of loose items, such as cans and bottles, are found in your can, you will be charged a $5 fee for each instance.

Yard Waste

Similar to cans and bottles, yard waste is not permitted to be dumped at the landfill and must be taken to a designated yard waste facility. While yard waste poses no hazardous risks, we can still be fined for blatant dumping at the landfill. When disposing of yard waste, we require it to be bagged, ideally in a contractor bag, before we can pick it up for transport to the appropriate facility. If yard waste is not bagged, we will pick it up but charge a $5 fine for each instance. We must comply with Gaston County regulations to avoid fines, and we ask for your cooperation to help us eliminate this risk.

Hazardous Materials

Hazardous materials are not to be thrown in the trash under any circumstances. While these materials and chemicals are harmful to the environment, some also have flammable and explosive properties that, when combined with our truck’s compactor, can lead to an explosion. We cannot stress enough how important it is to NOT throw these materials in your trash can, even if they are bagged, as it poses a risk not only to the environment but to the safety of our drivers.

  • Automotive Fluids: Used motor oil, antifreeze, etc.
  • Paints and Solvents: Oil-based paints, thinners, etc.
  • Chemicals: Pesticides, herbicides, lawn chemicals, pool chemicals, cleaners
  • Batteries: Lead-acid, rechargeable, lithium, etc.
  • Fluorescent Bulbs and Mercury Devices: Thermostats, thermometers
  • Propane Tanks and Aerosols: Aerosols must be completely empty
  • For proper disposal of hazardous materials, visit Disposing of Hazardous Materials.

Important Note: We will not pick up hazardous materials due to significant fines, potential suspension from dumping at the landfill, and the risk of harm to our drivers for improper dumping. If hazardous materials are found in your trash, we will remove them and charge a $50 fee. A second offense will result in indefinite discontinuation of your service.

Electronics

Electronics are not to be thrown in the trash under any circumstances. These items are primarily prohibited due to environmental concerns, as they contain materials that can harm the environment if not properly recycled. Additionally, there is a smaller but still existent risk of explosion when electronics are processed in our truck’s compactor. We strongly urge you to dispose of electronics at designated recycling centers to protect the environment and ensure safety.

  • Computers, laptops, monitors, televisions
  • Printers, scanners, and other electronic devices
  • For proper electronics recycling, visit How to recycle your electronics.
  • Important Note: We will not pick up electronics as they must be disposed of at recycling centers, and we can be fined for dumping them. If electronics are found in your trash, we will remove them and charge a $25 fee for each instance.
